April 20, 2009
In the first quarter of 2009, the jurors of AIA College of Fellows did more than elevate 112 members to the distinction of Fellow. They also appointed their new chairman: KSS' very own Allan Kehrt, FAIA. Effective immediately, Allan will chair the selection of the 2010 Fellows and perform other duties associated as chair of the jury during his one-year tenure. Jurors are elected to the College of Fellows by the membership and serve a three-year term. Allan will serve his last year on the jury as chairman. Congratulations, Allan!
The American Institute of Architects developed the Fellowship program to elevate architects with at least 10 years of membership who have contributed significantly to architecture and society and have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession on a national level, according to AIArchitect. Fewer than 2,765 members out of 86,000 AIA members, or about 3 percent, are recognized as fellows.
