The Children's Place Corporate Headquarters | |
The Children's Place, a national retailer of children's clothing and merchandise, wanted to consolidate their New Jersey offices into a three-story space in an active mixed-use office and retail development. The new headquarters integrates open work areas with private offices, offering myriad opportunities for executive, design, and administrative staff members to collaborate. Two full-scale mock stores allow the design and marketing team members to experiment with product displays and train staff to ensure a consistent store brand across the nation. A cafe located between the two mock stores creates a "mall like" atmosphere that allows for visual product display for the design and merchandising groups, showcases current products to visitors, and serves as impromptu meeting space. When selecting the materials and interior finishes to create a sophisticated, corporate and, of course, playful work environment, KSS Architects carefully integrated TCP's four signature colors--pink, blue, green and purple--as accents. The team also balanced TCP's need for extensive storage with their need for pin-up and layout space for the design teams along with daylighting and quality artificial lighting in their studio spaces. Through close collaboration with TCP, the project team, and local officials, KSS completed the renovation and tenant fit-out in just 10 months. | Project Highlights Secaucus, New Jersey Size: 140,000 sf total Features: Two mock stores and storefronts, cafeteria, cafe, 32 private offices, 17 conference spaces, 20 collaborative work spaces, design studios, product display areas, boardroom, data center Links KSS completes new HQ for The Children's Place in 11 months |
